Immiscible CO2 Flooding Efficiency in Low-Permeability Reservoirs: An Experimental Investigation of Residual Oil Distribution

نویسندگان

چکیده

Residual oil distribution plays a critical role in understanding of the CO 2 flooding processes, but its quantitative research for reservoirs with different permeability levels rarely has been comprehensively conducted laboratory. This article presents results an experimental study on immiscible displacement efficiency core samples and various patterns prior to after flooding. Experiments were four extracted from selected field range 0.210–66.077 mD. The show that can mobilize ultralow-permeability environment achieve reasonable (40.98%). contribution varies permeabilities. With increase permeability, cluster intergranular pore increases. However, corner film tends lower permeability. Therefore, is recommended case, especially larger amount patterns. calculated by experiment agrees reasonably well frozen slices observation. this have practical significance refers effective development low-permeability reservoirs.

A new investigation on modeling of permeability reduction during CO2 flooding processes in sandstone oil reservoirs

Permeability reduction in oil reservoirs during primary oil recovery and using the enhanced oil recovery methods are complicated problem which most of the oil field in worlds has encountered. In this work, a modified model based on four phase black oil model (oil, water, gas, and asphaltene) was developed to account permeability reduction during CO2 flooding in cylindrical coordinates around a ...

An Experimental Study of CO2-low Salinity Water Alternating Gas Injection in Sandstone Heavy Oil Reservoirs

Several studies have shown that oil recovery significantly increased by low salinity water flooding (LSWF) in sandstones. However, mechanism of oil recovery improvement is still controversial. CO2 that develops buffer in presence of water is expected as a deterrent factor in LSWF efficiency based on mechanism of IFT reduction due to pH uprising. No bright evidence in literature suppo...

RESEARCH ON CO2 FLOODING FOR IMPROVED OIL RECOVERY IN WATER FLOODING ABANDONED RESERVOIRS

CO2 injection is an effective technique for improved oil recovery in light oil reservoirs, especially for water flooding abandoned reservoirs. In this study, the lower part of Es1 reservoirs in Pucheng oilfield was introduced as the target reservoir. By studying the minimum miscible pressure in CO2 flooding, the reservoir could achieve miscible flooding. Long core displacement experiments prove...

Experimental Study of Foam Flooding in Low Permeability Sandstones: Effects of Rock Permeability and Microscopic Heterogeneity

Foam flooding (or injection of foam) is a common technology to enhance oil recovery. Although the effects of permeability on foam flooding were well studied in many laboratory experiments, little research has been focused on the specificity of low permeability. In this paper, a series of constant-quality nitrogen foam flow experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of permeability on...
